MiniCab Services Colchester has partnered with Eastern Savings & Loans Credit Union. Through payroll deduction, you can choose how much to set aside each payday, or apply for an affordable loan with repayments taken automatically from your wages. It’s simple, secure, and built for you.

Access Your Savings Easily
You can access your savings at any time through online banking in the Members Area, or by calling the ESLCU office. The team is available Monday – Friday, 9.30am–4pm to help with withdrawals or account queries. All transfers are made within 2 hours during our working hours.
Pause or Adjust Savings
If things change, your savings can change with you. You can pause contributions, increase them, or reduce them, keeping everything flexible around your circumstances.

Life Insurance Inculded

Fill in the membership form on our website. Please note, there is a recurring membership fee of £1 every month for all of our accounts.
Pay £5 using PayPal or GoCardless (you’ll see the payment page after submitting the form).
Once approved, you’ll get an email with your membership number, account details, and information about us.

Payroll deduction means can save or make loan repayments straight from your wages, after Tax. It’s automatic, secure, but also easy access if you need it. You can take out what you need when you need, we just ask you leave a minimum of £5 in your account.
Yes. You can make a withdrawal request online via the Members Area, or by telephone banking. All requests are processed the same working day if submitted before 4pm. Most of the time withdrawal requests are processed within 2 hours when we are open. If you request a withdrawal at 4.10pm on a Friday, this will not be processed until 9.30am Monday. This is the longest you would have to wait.
Yes, we have Online Banking. Once you open a Credit Union account you will get an email with details to set up the Members Area. Here you can view your balance, request a withdrawal, apply for a loan and sign up for Eastern Rewards. You can save it as an App on your phones home screen, so it is easy to access. If you need a statement, please just call the office, or email them, and they can email you one over.
Yes, you just need to let us know if you want to change, pause or stop it and we will update our records. If you are repaying a loan, we will need to set up new repayments if you want to stop the deduction, this can be done at a frequency that suits you.
No, you can save via Standing Order, or just send over an amount you want via Faster Payments at a frequency that suits you.
It will be deducted each pay cycle, and available in your Credit Union account as soon as we receive the funds from Minicab Services.
Yes, please join our Credit Union first, it should only take a few minuets. Then please complete the payroll deduction form below.
You can save as little or as much as you would like. We recommend a minimum of £5 a week, but we have no maximum amount to save. We do have a total amount held maximum of £25,000 of savings.
If your loan is approved, repayments are taken automatically from your wages each payday. ESLCU loans are low, fixed‑rate, with no hidden fees and no penalties for early repayment. You can also save at the same time if you would like. Your employer will not know that your deduction is for a loan. If you miss a payment, please get in touch with the office and we can work out a solution best suited to you.
We do have a Joining Fee of £5. (£2 is the admin fee to open the account, £3 starts your savings). We also have a £1 per month membership fee that covers unlimited deposits and withdrawals, the Life & Loan Insurance, and Eastern Rewards.
Your credit union membership continues. You can switch to direct debits or Standing Orders for savings and loan repayments.
Yes, savings with ESLCU are protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) up to £120,000.
No, as a membership cooperative, we pay a dividend on the profit we make over the year. This is done on the average balance of savings in your Credit Union account over the Financial Year.

Yes, you can set up additional savings accounts for Holidays, Christmas or whatever you want. We also have a Prize Saver account, where you can win Cash Prizes just for saving in it, (£200 maximum in the Prize Saver). These are also easy access, so you can take money out of them whenever you need.
Yes, all our accounts come with Life Insurance, and we ask you to nominate a beneficiary in case something happens to you. This person would get your savings, and any insurance due.
