Eastern Savings & Loans Team
Fewer of our members come to our town centre shop each week and we have reviewed the value our members get from this service. Following a recent review, we have made the decision to relocate our town centre counter service to our Head Office in Austin Street, Ipswich.
Chris Mole, CEO of Eastern Savings & Loans said: "The way customers undertake their banking is changing and people increasingly use online, telephone and mobile devices. Customer usage of our town centre shop has declined and more than 80% of our members are already using online, mobile or telephone banking. By relocating our shop, we can still provide access to services, and our range of digital channels will help ease the transition for our members."
We have a long-held commitment to ensure that our members can carry out everyday banking transactions including the deposits of cash and cheques. We also recognise our responsibility to the most vulnerable members of our society, and will continue to provide basic services via our Head Office in Austin Street.
To stay relevant and cost effective for our members, we will continue to improve our products, as well as improving and investing in our digital and telephone banking services. The launch of our new debit card and account, which includes direct debt facilities and a mobile banking app, has given many of our members full transactional banking services at a touch of a button.
